in the 1930's and 40's, Rita Orantes de León lived with her three children on east King street.  Like other long-time residents who rented, she lived at more than one address. 

In 1939-40, Rita's older son Henry had steady work as a laborer at the Arrowhead Springs Hotel, a luxury resort in the foothills above San Bernardino.

Around 1956 Rita moved to Highland, a couple miles north of Meadowbrook, where she would live to be 97.
